Thoughts and Lessons Learned

So New, So Fresh

Change is weird.

I honestly can’t say that I have ever been that good at embracing change. But through this whole “hmmm I guess it’s about time to start considering becoming an adult thing,” I’ve started to find that change doesn’t have to be all that bad.

BOOM. That’s overwhelming.

But as overwhelming as that might seem, my attitude is starting to change. Without change, new, exciting things can’t happen, there isn’t opportunity to grow and improve and, if we are being completely honest, life would be pretty boring.

So in the spirit of the whole adult thing and trying to further define my post-grad goals to develop as a writer, I am changing up my blog. Yes it has the same name and yes my content isn’t really going to change to, but to freshen it up I am moving it from the previous host site to this whole handy dandy place called WordPress, where I am also in the process of building a separate site to host my professional online portfolio.  Also I am starting from scratch, which is a bit bigger of a deal for me. Blogging, regardless of my inconsistency to keep up with it, has been a good way for me to record some of my college adventures, experiences and internships, as well as allowing me to explore a different tone and style of writing. However, I have new goals and ideas and to keep around old posts just doesn’t seem like it is going to do anything towards moving forward and fully accepting the change.

So here’s to embracing change.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” – Apple, Inc.
